It houses six theatres, a music venue, an old factory populated with nearly 60 artist studios and galleries, and more than a dozen outdoor public art installations and murals. Gordon Square Arts District (GSAD) today announced the selection of four Gordon Square Artists-in-Residence for 2019. Each quarter in 2019 will feature a talented Cleveland artist. Gordon Square Arts District launched its quarterly artists-in-residence program in 2017 to support the artist workforce in the neighborhood and connect the community with free and inclusive arts programming. Gordon Square Arts District will be hosting four artist residencies in 2019. Applications are available now, and one artist-in-residence will be chosen for each quarter in 2019. The residencies are funded by a grant from The Cleveland Foundation. The quarterly Gordon Square Artist Residency is one of GSAD’s initiatives to support the artist workforce and leverage vibrant arts in the neighborhood. GSAD supports the selected artist for each residency with a $5,000 stipend and project costs up to $2,000. Application information and materials can be found here. Edgewater LIVE presented by Cuyahoga Community College will kick off May 31 at 4:30 p.m. on the Centennial Plaza at Edgewater Beach House with performers from the Tri-C Creative Arts Program. Then, from 6 to 9 p.m., the region’s favorite headlining acts will perform on the Dollar Bank Stage.
