The Gordon Square Arts District is the economic cornerstone of Cleveland’s west side where a unique combination of housing, new businesses, the arts and neighborhood beautification are sparking the development of new jobs for residents.
Now in Phase II of its capital campaign, the Gordon Square Arts District is helping to infuse more than $500 million in economic development in the surrounding community. The three engines of the Gordon Square Arts Districts economic development are the Capitol Theatre, The Cleveland Public Theatre, and the Near West Theatre. Collaborating with the Detroit Shoreway Community Development Organization has been essential for developing connections with our neighborhood - the completion of Detroit Ave.'s streetscape renovations and the Capitol Theatre Grand Re-Opening in October of 2009. There are a lot of interesting things happening in Gordon Square as you can see our progress in these videos we produced, our newsletters and read what the media is saying in our recent press articles.
We are working hard to continue raising funds to complete our capitol projects including Near West Theatre's new home in the Arts District. If you cannot make a donation today, you can still show your support by visiting our restaurants, enjoying our entertainment and shops. Telling a friend about us on Facebook, twitter or subscribing to our RSS feed makes it easy to stay up to date on news and events happening in Gordon Square.
